Late in 2005 Enlighten Designs was contacted by Anton Terblanche; the Business Development & Marketing Manager for RPS Quality Homes.
RPS Quality Homes is a progressive residential building company, providing comfortable new, family homes of excellence. Since it was established in 1998, the company has grown to complete more than 150 homes throughout New Zealand.
RPS Quality Homes did not have a website but recognized the necessity of a web presence to continue to compete effectively in their market. It was important to develop a comprehensive and content rich website to showcase the range of homes RPS provides. RPS believes quality has to be experienced, and define quality as not only using quality materials and effective processes, but as the ability to provide an impressive finish.
It was for this reason that RPS Quality Homes chose Enlighten Designs to be their website development partner.
When the decision was made to develop the RPS website, the RPS management ventured into putting together a shortlist of website designers who would have an insight into corporate marketing, be experienced in website design and are professional enough to understand and build on the corporate identity of RPS Quality Homes. The chosen design company needed to be big enough to understand how a larger company functions.
The Solution
Before any website designs were started, the staff at Enlighten Designs reviewed several competitor websites and provided recommendations to RPS. Website structure documents were then drafted outlining the general website requirements, sections, and pages. These documents were then submitted to RPS for approval and modification.
Enlighten Designs then moved into the design phase. It was important that the RPS website was both attractive and functional, with a generous amount of images, rich content and a well-structured layout. Each website interface was designed, reviewed, and approved. The basic version of Vadmin 3.0 Content Management System was also employed to enable the Properties for Sale section of the website to be maintained by RPS staff in-house and to allow downloadable documents to be managed.
I believe one of the main reasons of having completed the project successfully, was the focus put on the planning stages by the Enlighten team. After an in depth planning stage was completed, the rest of the project was completed smoothly and ran according to schedule. The few changes necessary were handled efficiently, yet patiently.
The Result
The result of the development of the RPS Quality Homes website is a professional, comprehensive and highly accessible website. The website is rich with content that is beneficial to both potential clients and current clients alike. Over 20 home plans can be viewed, complete with downloadable floor plans, brochures, and specifications, as well as a range of good quality images.
